Sophisticated engineering and design criteria combine a lightweight "membrane" of cross-cut panels with load path yarns to provide strength needed in different parts of the sail. The result is a lightweight sail that holds its shape in a wide range of sailing conditions. Taffeta can be added to ensure extra durability or for cruising applications.
